A hot summer yielded an early, bountiful harvest of fully colored Pinot Noir grapes at Rockbridge Vineyard. Harvest began in August with the earliest ripening clones and was complete by mid-September.
The wine was bottled with a slight (0.5%) residual sugar very early to capture the delightful fresh fruit aroma and flavors. Very non-Burgundian in style, I decided to bottle the wine as Rockbridge rather than DeChiel, under which label you will find our other Pinot.

Fragrant cherry fruit. Light body with a very soft finish. This wine does very well with light summery suppers such as grilled garden vegetables served with pasta or a crusty baguette and a brie with fruit. The fruity acidity does well with olive oils or buttery cheeses.
